Kevin T. Bastuba


 

 Kevin T. Bastuba is an attorney at Greer, Burns & Crain in Chicago. His IP legal practice includes patent, trademark, and copyright law, with a focus on U.S. and international patent preparation and prosecution.

 

Mr. Bastuba’s patent practice at GBC focuses primarily on drafting and prosecuting patents for various computer and electrical devices such as computer hardware and software, wireless and wired communications technologies and liquid crystal display devices.

 

His intellectual property legal activities involve all aspects of patent preparation and prosecution including patent appeals, re-examination and reissue., Mr. Bastuba also has experience preparing infringement and patentability opinions.

 

Additional IP practice areas at GBC include mechanical devices such as hand and power tools, medical devices, and vehicle tires.

 

Mr. Bastuba received his J.D. from DePaul University College of Law where he won a CALI award for Patent Drafting and graduated with a certificate in Intellectual Property and Patent Law.

 

Prior to law school he was awarded a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from the University of Illinois.

 

Prior to joining GBC, Mr. Bastuba interned for a company working on communications projects for the U.S. military.
